Who I Am
I’m Jeffrey Langford,
a New York City-based photographer.
For many years I’ve led a double life as both a professor of music history and author of books and articles on various aspects of music, and as a photographer who specializes in documenting the musicians with whom I am surrounded on a daily basis.
This website also illustrates my abiding attention to the world around us—whether natural or man-made. My landscape, street, and architectural photography complement my work with people and are a testament to my love of cameras and pictures, through which I try to project my personal view of the world in which we live.
What I Do
I offer a variety of services and images for sale.
Portrait
My goal is to create distinctive, attractive portraits of both individuals and groups. Portrait sessions are available for indoor studio head shots and for outdoor environmental photos.
Landscape and Cityscape Photography
Landscapes reshape the way we see our world. They are not so much what you and I see as they are what I want to see and what I want you to see.
Performances and Masterclass Photography
Live documentation of various kinds of performance activities, including, but not limited to recitals and masterclasses for musicians.
Still Life and Nature
Views of the world around us—both natural and man-made.
